Teaching job in Thailand
To enable you to enter Thailand and obtain a work permit for the purpose of teaching in Thailand it is necessary to take the following documentation with you to Thailand :
- a) Valid passport with Non-Immigrant Category B (non- O is also acceptable) Multiple or Single Entry Visa
- b) Valid Education Certificate
- c) Valid Criminal Clearance Certificate
- d) Official Letter of Appointment from education establishment
- e) Any other documents which the education establishment may require
Note: New regulations (Ministry of Education) requiring all foreign teachers to have at least a bachelor degree and to pass an extensive background check.
Note: Foreigners working in Thailand are governed by the Labour Protection laws. However, there are exceptions for certain occupations, such as principles and teachers in private schools or housemaids (Ministerial Regulation (B.E.2541), Business not under enforcement of the Labour Protection Act. B.E.2541, dated 19 August 2541).Teacher Requirements:
1 – A certified copy of at least a bachelor degree, which must be presented to the local Ministry of Education, which must check the authenticity of the teacher's credentials by seeking a confirmation letter from the university the applicant claims to be a graduate of.
2 – The applicant must possess a passport with a non-immigrant visa of any type except ED (study/ education visa). The visa must be valid at least before the date of application.
3 – The name of the teacher must match that on his/her passport and academic degree.
4 – Teachers from countries where English is not an official language must present evidence of English-language fluency, in the form of a standardized test results with the following minimum scores: IELTS 5.5, or TOEFL 550 or TOEIC 600

Government University
1. An official letter from the head of the department concerned requesting for a Visa for the applicant
2. A letter of employment
3. Application for work permit in accordance to section 8 (wp.2)
4. Passport photocopy
Private University
1. An official letter from the head of the department concerned requesting for a Visa for the applicant
2. A letter of employment
3. Employment contract
4. Diploma and resume of the applicant
5. The School's registration papers and the rector's letter of appointment
6. Application for work permit in accordance section 8 (wp.2)
7. Passport photocopy
International School
1. An official letter from the head of the department concerned requesting for a Visa for the applicant
2. A letter of employment
3. Employment contract
4. Diploma and resume of the applicant
5. Teacher license
6. Current Teaching position license
7. The school's registration papers and the administrator's letter of appointment / license
8. Application for work permit in accordance Section 8 (wp.2)
9. Photocopy of Passport
Government School
